In celebration of 172nd La Union Foundation Anniversary, the Search for the Cleanest, Safest, and Greenest Local Government Unit in the Province of La Union officially kicked off on March 1, 2022 in Sudipen, La Union.

The Search for the Cleanest, Safest, and Greenest Local Government Unit in the Province of La Union was institutionalized by virtue of the Provincial Ordinance No. 267-2020. This program aims to institutionalize a system of providing recognition to the cleanest local government units in the province.

The Provincial Search Committee is composed of PGLU offices, representatives from various National Government Agencies (NGAs), and private sectors. The cleanest, safest and greenest LGUs, municipal bodies of water, and barangays will receive a financial award to support their environmental projects.

The PGLU hopes that all LGUs, with the support from all kaprobinsiaan, sustain cleanliness and orderliness in their community as we work together in solidarity in building a Stronger La Union, a province worth living in. (Diana E. Jutba, GPC-ENRO)
